Easter case report: Revealing the secrets of a chocolate egg

Blog post   •   Apr 05, 2017 07:36 UTC

In celebration of Easter Planmeca presents an in vitro study, which reveals the secrets of a chocolate surprise egg.

The surprise toy inside an Easter egg is very important. Unfortunately finding out which surprise the egg in question holds inside of it, is very difficult without breaking the chocolate egg.

Case report

Planmeca ProMax® 3D Mid CBCT unit was used to take a 3D image of the chocolate egg. The 3D image was taken with normal resolution (voxel size 200 µm), and Planmeca Ultra Low Dose™ imaging was used for lower imaging dose.

The 3D image was then studied in the versatile Planmeca Romexis® software. Is it a bunny? Is it a ring?

No, it’s a tractor!

In conclusion, Planmeca ProMax 3D Mid is a great diagnostic tool in studying chocolate surprise eggs. With this tool the surprise might not be a surprise anymore, but at least it will not be an unpleasant surprise!

Happy upcoming Easter!
